During the second weekend of September Hampshire Kung Fu will be running three kung fu seminars just for women.

Content
- Introductions
The seminar will begin with a hello, some introductions and a chat about what the seminar will cover. The main theme of the day will be balancing strength and softness.
- Warm Up
Then we will have a gentle limber up and stretch, hitting pads will tone muscles, prepare and invigorate our bodies.
- Initial Games
Simple balance games will provide a way for us to get to know each other & the movements and ideas we will be using. This is a chance to think about posture and structure. We believe that with the right posture and structure anybody can move with real grace, poise and power.
- Developing the Basics
We will then listen to what aspect of self defence you want to become familiar with. You will practice movements on your own to build familiarity and confidence then move on to partner work. Increasing your confidence until you can use the techniques with ease and power, applying great solutions to common challenges.
- Kicking Some Butt
If you are ready for it and keen we can put on some protective equipment and you can beat up the instructors (or your training partner). This will give you another level of confidence in your kung fu prowess.
- Warm Down
We will finish up with a thorough warm down, using chi gung to consolidate the feeling you’ve developed of being centred, grounded and satisfied!
- Tea and Feedback
Time for green tea and a quick chat about the seminar. You can share ideas and give us tips and advice.
- Benefit
Physical practice provides immediate and tangible feedback that is experienced first hand. You will literally move through ideas and strategies that will improve the way you move and respond to conflict and opportunity.
The principles at work in intelligent martial arts can be applied beyond physical conflict. When understood holistically the practice of balancing strength and softness can be used to empower the way you deal with conversation, sharing ideas, making changes, relating to your body and developing confidence in any situation.
This seminar is for everyone. No one is too old, too tired, too unfit, too clumsy or too nervous to come and make new friends, have a lot of fun and learn some fu!
