From the 29th Jan - 1st of Feb Martin and Charlie attended an instructor training course with Sifu Westra at our big sister club in Cambridge.
Sifu led us through the first four student grades. Training covered all aspects of our practice; improving our forms through to application. We discussed the various challenges and opportunities a kung fu teacher faces and how to deliver clear and meaningful tuition.
Sifu provided us with a document that sets out how he approaches teaching. The emphasis was on practical application of the forms as ever. We also took the time to discussed chi sau and the artistry that can be enjoyed in Wing Chun practice.
We are currently training what we have learnt and updating and improving our syllabus. We are very grateful for the input Sifu Westra offers us and have seen the improvement in our own practice and that of our students that results from his influence.
